I.D.G.R. was established in 1980 for the purpose of providing a low cost registration and record-keeping service for owners of ALL breeds of goats and sheep. With four herdbooks for Purebreds, Americans, Grades, and Experimentals in every breed, there is a ‘home’ in IDGR for every goat and sheep.
IDGR is committed to helping breeders to breed for the best and to keeping the breeds pure and separate. IDGR has many safeguards in place to ensure the purity of the breeds and conformation to their respective breed standards.
Welcome to the IDGR family of people who really like goats!
***NEWS: WE HAVE MOVED! Our website has moved to a new address and our office has moved to a new town!! To better represent the goals of the IDGR, we are now expanding the registry to include not just the International Dairy Goat Registry, but also the International Fiber Breed Registry. With a growing number of fiber and multipurpose breeds being represented in the IDGR we thought it was time to branch our name to be more inclusive. The new IDGR-IFBR will continue to provide all the same services as the IDGR, but with new and expanding services as well. We are very excited to see the IDGR grow in its new location and can't wait to work with all of you. In the coming months you will se the website change quite a bit, but for now all the content is the same. The members only area is currently unavailable but you should still have access to all of our articles and applications, as well as email and phone access directly to our office. Keep in mind, we are often in the fields with our own 4 legged charges, so phone service may be spotty at times! Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions or concerns! ***
